Wife Sent Packing After Declining Husband’s Intimacy Request
A Nigerian woman has shared her heartbreaking story after her husband kicked her out of their home because she refused to be intimate with him. The ordeal was brought to light on the social media platform X by user @Teeniiola, who posted a video detailing the woman’s experience.
According to the woman, her husband gave her ₦1,000 as food money for herself and their five children. She used the cash to buy sugar and groundnuts to accompany their Garri meal. On a rainy night, when her husband sought intimacy, she told him she was too exhausted to engage. His response was to pack her belongings and those of their children outside the house, ordering her to leave.
She pleaded, “People, help me, don’t let me suffer in vain. Look at my clothes outside—I didn’t do anything wrong. He is my husband, and I have five children for him.” She added, “He gave me ₦1,000 for food, and I used it to buy sugar and groundnuts for myself and the kids. It was raining, and he insisted on sleeping with me, but I said I was tired. He packed my clothes outside and told me to find somewhere else to go.”
Now, she and her children are forced to sleep in an unfinished building.
The post sparked concern, with many rushing to the comments to share their thoughts and offer support. Some questioned the husband’s expectations, while others debated the dynamics of the marriage and the responsibilities of both partners.
One commenter asked, “So throughout the marriage, she was never able to buy boxes or traveling bags for herself?” Another remarked, “If the husband is fulfilling his roles well, to provide for and lead the family, I see no reason why she won’t be intimate with her husband—unless she has someone else outside.”
Another pointed out the harsh reality of the ₦1,000 food money, saying, “1k to feed a grown adult and five children in Nigeria in 2025? What else could she do with it?”
Despite the mixed reactions, the woman’s story sheds light on the struggles faced by many families and the complexities of marital relationships.
