Victim to Press Charges Against Speed Darlington Following Rape Confession, Says Isaac Fayose
Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, has disclosed that the 15-year-old girl involved in the recent scandal surrounding entertainer Speed Darlington is preparing to file an official complaint with the police.
Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, stirred controversy during a recent Instagram live session when he admitted to having a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl. Although he later claimed the admission was a prank meant to generate buzz for his new song, public outcry has demanded a thorough investigation.
Fayose confirmed that the victim has been identified and will soon be accompanied by her mother to report the incident to law enforcement authorities. In a video shared on Instagram, he expressed his frustration with Nigeria’s lack of law enforcement and the declining values among the youth.
He said, “Nigeria is the most lawless nation in the world. Even our children, the values they are getting now is so low. No law at all… How can we operate a lawless nation? The latest saga is Akpi, Speed Darlington coming on a live video to say he slept with an underage, 15-year-old girl. Wow! What a sad moment in our country. He made the confession on Children’s Day. Where is the protection for our children?”
Fayose warned that Speed Darlington’s actions would not be taken lightly, stating, “Akpi was thinking it was a joke, but unfortunately for him, we now have a victim coming forward tomorrow to write a statement at the police station with her mother. Akpi, you’re going to be the latest pedophile in Nigeria. You’re going to join the likes of R. Kelly. You have been joking about Diddy’s baby oil scandal, but now you’re a victim of your oil. We got someone coming up tomorrow to write a statement against you. And I believe that the relevant agencies, international communities are watching you. I’m currently in Dubai, people are talking about it. This one, you can’t sweep it under the carpet.”
The case is expected to move forward as authorities prepare to investigate the allegations.
