VeryDarkMan Vows to Cut Ties with Davido, ChiefPriest Over Potential APC Endorsements in 2027
Online commentator and self-styled watchdog, VeryDarkMan, has drawn a bold political line in the sand, warning that he’ll distance himself from music star Davido and nightlife mogul Cubana ChiefPriest if they publicly back the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2027 elections.
Reacting to the pair’s recent visit to the presidential villa, the outspoken influencer clarified that he holds no grudge against anyone’s personal political preference. However, he stated emphatically that the moment anyone begins openly championing the ruling party—or any political party for that matter—he’ll take it personally. And by “personally,” he means unfollowing, calling out, and cutting ties.
“Support whoever you like, that’s your right,” he declared in an Instagram video. “But the second you start drumming up support for APC in 2027, just know you’re not in my circle anymore.”
VeryDarkMan emphasized that politicians should do their own campaigning rather than borrowing the star power of celebrities to win over voters. “Any leader worth their salt should step up, face the people, and lay out their own plans,” he said. “Don’t hide behind entertainers who’ve been bought with cash and clout.”
He stressed that the electorate has earned the right to decide for themselves without being swayed by celebrity endorsements. “If, after everything happening now, you still choose to vote APC, that’s your business. If you prefer another party, again, that’s fine. But influencers should stay out of it,” he added firmly.
Interestingly, VeryDarkMan and Davido aren’t exactly strangers. In fact, the influencer was one of the select guests invited to Davido and Chioma’s grand wedding celebration in June 2024. But if Davido decides to play cheerleader for the APC in the next election cycle, that friendship may be history.
One thing’s clear: come 2027, VeryDarkMan plans to be on the frontlines—not for a party, but for transparency. And if that means ditching some high-profile friendships along the way, so be it.
