Update: Image Released of Woman Who Fatally St@bbed Her Co-Wife in Katsina
In a tragic incident from Daura Local Government Area, Katsina State, a 23-year-old woman named Rabia Labaran reportedly st@bbed her co-wife, Zainab Lawal, to d3ath. The unfortunate event unfolded behind Dadi Primary School in the Sabon Gari area of Daura town after tensions between the co-wives escalated into a deadly clash.
The spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident in a statement dated Sunday, May 25, 2025. According to the report, on the night of May 24 around 11 pm, Nasir Yusuf, the husband, returned from the market to discover his first wife, 30-year-old Zainab Lawal, lying in a pool of bl@@d, having sustained multiple st@b wounds.
Police quickly responded to the call, and the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Daura. Unfortunately, she was pronounced d3ad upon arrival. During investigations, Rabia Labaran was arrested and confessed that a disagreement with Zainab led to the fatal fight.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter. Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, urged the public to reject all forms of domestic violence and warned against taking the law into their own hands. He emphasized the importance of seeking lawful ways to resolve conflicts, noting that vigilantism only causes more harm and weakens the justice system.
