Tragic Tale: Woman K!lls Granddaughters Over Daughter’s Affair, Then Takes Her Own Life Alongside Her Mother
In a heartbreaking incident from Tamil Nadu, India, a woman took the lives of her two granddaughters before ending her own life along with her 65-year-old mother. The tragedy unfolded on the night of Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
The victims were identified as Kaliswari, aged 45; her mother, Chellammal, 65; and her granddaughters, Likthisha, 7, and Deepthisha, 5. Kaliswari lived in Chinnakulipatti village in Oddanchatram taluk, sharing a home with her mother.
Kaliswari’s daughter, Pavithra, 28, had married Prabhakaran from Karur nine years ago, and together they had the two young girls. Following a dispute with her husband last month, Pavithra returned to her mother’s house with the children.
Allegations surfaced that Pavithra was involved in an extramarital relationship with a local man. Upon discovering this, Kaliswari confronted her daughter.
On the evening of June 17, Pavithra eloped with the man. Overwhelmed by the events, Kaliswari tragically hanged her two granddaughters before taking her own life and that of her mother.
The grim discovery was made the following morning. Authorities from Idayakottai police have sent the bodies to Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination and have opened an investigation into the case.
