Tiwa Savage Reveals How Pregnancy Impacted Her Vocal Range
Renowned Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage recently opened up about how her pregnancy influenced her singing voice.
During a discussion on Afrobeats Intelligence, she shared insights into the challenges she faced as a pregnant musician.
“I was expecting when I recorded my album ‘R.E.D’. There were moments in the studio when I’d be in tears, carrying my big belly. Recording that album was a real struggle,” she revealed.
Tiwa explained that her pregnancy forced her to adjust the key of several songs on the album because it affected her ability to hit certain notes.
“I was the first to have a baby in Mavin Records. Whenever my energy dipped, Don Jazzy would make sure I got my cravings—usually eggs and bread,” she fondly recalled.
For context, Tiwa Savage joined Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records in 2012 before moving to Universal Music Group in 2019.
