Suspected Ritualist Caught with Mutilated Body of 6-Year-Old in Bayelsa
On Wednesday, June 19, a man suspected to be involved in ritual activities, known as Bobby, was arrested while attempting to flee with the mutilated body of a six-year-old boy. The incident took place in the Aritalin area of Ovom community, within Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State.
Residents reported that Bobby, who is from the same Ovom community, was intercepted around 8 pm by vigilant locals who grew suspicious of his movements and raised an alarm.
The gruesome discovery of the boy’s mutilated body sparked outrage and tension within the Hausa community. Some residents attempted to take justice into their own hands by attacking the suspect, but community elders quickly stepped in to prevent violence and handed Bobby over to the police.
As of now, the Bayelsa State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
