Student Attacks Teacher Over Missing Two Marks in Exam
Some students chase academic perfection — but for one teenager in Thailand, that pursuit took a dramatic and violent turn. A 17-year-old at a private school in Uthai Thani lashed out at his math teacher after being awarded 18 out of 20 on a mid-term test.
According to CCTV footage, the heated exchange began when the student approached the teacher to challenge his score. She explained that although his answers were correct, he lost points for failing to show his working steps — a requirement for full marks. She even encouraged him to confirm the grading with other teachers. After doing so, he returned, still demanding the two extra marks.
When his request was refused, frustration boiled over. He kicked a desk, left the classroom momentarily, and came back to demand an apology. Upon hearing another ‘no,’ he launched into a physical attack, slapping, punching, and kicking his female teacher in front of more than 20 stunned classmates.
The assault left the teacher with a bruised eye, swelling on her head, and inflamed ribs. She sought medical attention and filed a police report. The school has since suspended the student, who has also asked to withdraw from enrollment.
The shocking incident has sparked conversations about respect in classrooms and how easily tempers can escalate. While the teacher heals from her injuries, the footage remains a sobering reminder of just how far some will go over a couple of missing marks.
