A heartbreaking story has emerged from Nigeria, where a woman shared her harrowing experience of losing her sight temporarily during pregnancy, only to face the devastating loss of her baby. Identified on TikTok as @mrs.temishe, she recounted the ordeal that unfolded during her third pregnancy, pointing fingers at hospital negligence and delayed medical intervention.

Her troubles began with intense migraines and pain on one side of her head and eye, accompanied by facial discomfort. Admitted due to dangerously high blood sugar levels, she was referred to an eye hospital as her symptoms escalated. Shockingly, she lost her sense of smell and became unable to perceive her surroundings properly.

The situation grew bleaker when she was taken into surgery; upon entering the operating theater, the sight of a generator was her first indication of the hospital’s dire state, signaling insufficient facilities and poor preparedness.

Following the surgery, she was discharged but soon experienced bleeding at home, prompting an urgent return to the hospital where she initially delivered her care. There, she was crushed by the news that her unborn child no longer had a heartbeat.

She explained that her temporary blindness was related to hormonal complications during pregnancy, warning that such conditions could affect any expectant mother if not promptly treated.

As the video of her recounting spread across social media, many spoke out with empathy and frustration over the failing healthcare system. Comments ranged from personal fears about pregnancy to sorrowful condolences, highlighting broad public concern.

This story underscores the critical need for improved medical infrastructure and timely care, reminding us of the serious risks some women face during pregnancy.
