Police Repel Attack in Benue

The Benue State Police Command acted swiftly to foil an attempted attack by suspected herdsmen on Government Secondary School, Odugbo, right as students were in the midst of their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident unfolded on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., when armed individuals began firing indiscriminately at the school grounds.

Fortunately, the 80-person Patrol Team from the Benue State Civilian Joint Task Force (PMF) Odugbo responded without delay, pushing back the attackers, who quickly retreated into the surrounding bush.

No injuries or fatalities were reported, and security teams are currently combing the area in pursuit of those responsible. The prompt response ensured that students could continue their exams in safety, turning what could have been a tragedy into a story of resilience and effective policing.
