Peter Opens Up on P-Square Split: ‘We Tried, But It Just Didn’t Work’
Peter Okoye, famously known as Mr P, has finally spoken out about the breakup of the iconic P-Square duo with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy.
In a recent chat with Cool FM, Lagos, Mr P shared that there’s a certain happiness and freedom that comes from pursuing a solo career. He asked fans to understand and respect their choice to go their separate ways, emphasizing that they gave being a duo a real shot, but it just wasn’t working anymore.
“There’s a joy that comes with going solo. Please respect our decisions. We’ve tried it, it’s not working,” he explained, shedding light on the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most beloved musical acts.
Fans might recall that Paul had confirmed the group’s split last August. P-Square originally parted ways in 2016 before making a comeback in 2021, but it seems this time around, the separation might be here to stay.
Despite the split, both brothers continue to thrive individually, carving out their own paths while their fans eagerly support their solo ventures.
