Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the lead pastor of House on The Rock, has finally addressed the buzz surrounding a viral video that showed him holding an object while cautioning a content creator during a traffic encounter.
The clip, which made rounds on Friday, June 6, captured the pastor driving when a content creator began filming his vehicle. As Pastor Paul neared the person recording, he rolled down his window and warned the individual while holding something that many viewers mistook for a handgun. The content creator quickly apologized, and the pastor drove off.
The video sparked outrage across social media, with many questioning why a man of the cloth would threaten an unarmed citizen with a firearm. However, Pastor Paul used his church platform on June 8 to clear the air.
He explained, “This isn’t just an attack on a local church or on me personally. It’s part of a larger, organized spiritual battle. We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in high places.”
The pastor went on to highlight the root cause behind the incident: “The enemy’s bait is always the love of money, which is the root of all evil. What we witnessed was just clickbaiters hungry for more views and cash. I probably wasn’t even their main target; their real aim was to make money.”
He firmly denied the accusations, stating, “I was wrongly accused of carrying a firearm and pointing it at an aggressive content creator who came dangerously close. The only thing between us was about three-quarters of a meter and a glass window. I don’t have a pistol license, I don’t carry firearms, and I did not point any weapon at anyone.”
