Oxlade Credits Fireboy for Teaching Him the Art of Music Composition
Sometimes, even the biggest stars have a mentor behind the scenes who shapes their craft. Afrobeats sensation Oxlade recently opened up about how he learned the finer points of music composition from none other than his fellow artist Fireboy DML.
The voice behind the hit ‘Kulusa’ shared that Fireboy played a pivotal role in guiding him during the early days of his career. According to Oxlade, Fireboy’s songwriting skills are in a league of their own, making him stand out in the Nigerian music scene.
“When it comes to penmanship, no one matches Fireboy. I picked up how to properly put music together because of him. He was way ahead,” Oxlade revealed during a recent livestream with popular streamer Shank Comics.
He added that Fireboy was instrumental in his transition into crafting quality music before Oxlade eventually found his own unique style. This mentorship, he admits, was a game changer for his musical journey.
