In a swift and precise operation, the HQ 63 Brigade Nigerian Army, alongside the Sector 1 Joint Task Force (Operation Delta Safe), apprehended a suspected cult member named Igbe Lucky Chika. The 26-year-old was arrested by troops on July 19, 2025, within the Ezionun community in Abraka.

The military teams recovered a cache of items from the suspect, including a homemade firearm, an axe, a cutlass, two mobile phones, and a Toyota Camry bearing the registration number Delta ASB 41 BE.

Initial investigations confirmed the man’s involvement in cult activities, and he is set to be handed over to the appropriate security agencies for further inquiries and prosecution.

Brigadier General MA Shonibare, the commander of the 63 Brigade and Sector 1 Joint Task Force, praised the troops for their professionalism and dedication during the mission. He also called on the public to keep supporting the military’s efforts to uphold peace and security in the area.

This arrest marks another step forward in the ongoing campaign to curtail cult-related violence and maintain order throughout the region.
