“My God, why?” – Kenyan Lawmaker Grieves as Newborn Daughter Passes Days After Wife’s Funeral
Tragedy has struck twice for Kenyan lawmaker Duncan Wangama, who is grappling with a heartbreak no one should face. Just days after bidding farewell to his beloved wife, Stella Wangama, he now mourns the loss of their newborn daughter.
The Member of County Assembly for Wusi Kishamba Ward in Taita Taveta County laid his wife to rest on Thursday, July 17, 2025, following her passing earlier that month. Stella died in the early hours of July 8, shortly after delivering their baby girl.
Their daughter, Judy, passed away on Sunday, July 20 — a mere three days after Stella’s funeral — and was laid to rest on Monday, July 21.
Stella had undergone a caesarean section to deliver Judy but unfortunately developed complications that led to her untimely d3ath. The loss of both wife and child has plunged the MCA into deep sorrow.
Photos shared from the funeral show a grieving Duncan Wangama overcome with emotion, surrounded by family and friends offering comfort during this devastating time.
This painful double tragedy underscores the fragility and unpredictability of life, leaving a community united in mourning with a man trying to find strength amid his profound loss.
