Mayorkun Credits Davido for Helping Him Land Sony Music Africa Deal After Leaving DMW
Popular Nigerian artist Mayorkun has revealed that Davido, his former label boss, played a significant role in helping him secure a deal with Sony Music Africa.
Mayorkun initially signed with Davido Music World (DMW) in 2016 but parted ways with the label in 2021. His exit sparked rumors of a fallout between the two stars.
However, during an interview with 3Music TV, Mayorkun clarified that Davido was instrumental in facilitating his new contract with Sony Music Africa.
“Besides running my own label, I’m also signed to Sony Africa. Big shout out to Davido for making that happen,” Mayorkun said.
This revelation sheds light on the continued camaraderie and support between the two artists despite the label change.
