Man Allegedly K!lls Uncle and Drinks His Bl@@d in Ebonyi
Emmanuel Nwedu, a 40-year-old man, appeared before Abakaliki Magistrates Court 11 on Tuesday, May 27, facing shocking allegations. He is accused of k!lling his uncle and, disturbingly, drinking the victim’s bl@@d.
The court did not take his plea as Nwedu showed up without legal representation. The Senior State Counsel, Emmanuel Alo, informed the court that the incident took place on May 24 at Ugboenyim, within Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. According to Alo, Nwedu allegedly struck his uncle, Godwin Nwedu, on the forehead with a stick, resulting in his de@th.
The charge against Nwedu falls under Section 329 (1) of the Criminal Code Law of Ebonyi State, making it a serious offense. Following the presentation of the case file, the prosecution requested that Nwedu be remanded at the Federal Correctional Centre in Abakaliki pending further legal action.
Chief Magistrate Chinedu Agama agreed to the remand and ordered that the case be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for continued prosecution. The court set the next hearing for June 11, when a compliance report is expected.
This case has already sent ripples through the community, raising questions and concerns about what led to such a grim event.
