Kogi University Lecturer Dies Suddenly During Encounter with Student
Tragedy struck at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in Anyigba, Kogi State, as Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a senior lecturer, reportedly passed away during an intimate encounter with a 22-year-old student on July 15, 2025.
The incident took place in a hotel in Anyigba where Dr. Ibikunle and the student, Gloria Samuel, were said to have checked in together. Reports suggest that the lecturer had consumed multiple energy drinks prior to the event.
The exact cause of death remains under investigation with an autopsy conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the unexpected demise. The female student has been taken into custody and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further questioning.
Despite the gravity of the situation, the university management has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, leaving many awaiting clarity on this unfortunate occurrence.
