When wigs and dresses become part of a crime plan, you know mischief is at play. That was the case in Kano, where security operatives foiled an unusual scheme involving men dressed as women to carry out violent missions.

The incident unfolded in the Kurna area of Kano metropolis, where the suspects stormed the community with the alleged goal of carrying out targeted assassinations. Their plot, however, was cut short when a local security team swiftly intercepted them on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Investigations revealed that the men were not acting alone but were tied to a network of hired attackers known for such disguises to slip into neighborhoods unnoticed. Their creative costumes didn’t help them much once authorities caught wind of the plan.

The suspects are now in the custody of security agencies, where they will face further questioning and possible prosecution. Meanwhile, residents of Kurna breathed a sigh of relief and applauded the quick intervention of the operatives. Many also urged security outfits to maintain heightened vigilance, noting that such brazen tactics highlight just how far criminals are willing to go to outsmart authorities.

For Kano, the arrests served as a reminder that while disguises might fool the eye, they rarely escape determined surveillance. The balance of safety, it seems, rests on constant watchfulness.
