JAMB Names Okeke Chinedu Christian of Anambra as 2025 UTME Top Scorer with 375 Marks
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State clinched the top spot in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring a remarkable 375 out of 400.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement during the 2025 Policy Meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday. Okeke has chosen to pursue Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), his preferred institution.
Hot on his heels is Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State, who scored an impressive 374. Ayuba’s first choice is Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), where he also plans to study Mechanical Engineering.
Coming in third is Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State, who earned 373 marks and, like Okeke, aims to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos.
Interestingly, the top three performers are all male and have selected the same course—Mechanical Engineering—highlighting a strong trend among high achievers gravitating towards the engineering discipline.
The board applauded these exceptional students for their stellar results and urged all candidates to keep striving for academic excellence.
