“It’s All Politics and Falsehoods” — Enugu Native Doctor Accused of Kidnapping and Ritual K!llings Claims Villagers Framed Him Over Kingship Dispute
Obi Levi Obieze, the Enugu native doctor also known as Ezeani, who faces serious allegations involving kidnappings and ritual k!llings after bodies were reportedly found buried in a soakaway on his property, has firmly declared his innocence.
Obieze was apprehended while attempting to escape Nigeria on a motorcycle via a land border. During questioning by immigration officials, he claimed that his own villagers set him up because he is next in line to become king.
He confidently stated, “An innocent man fears no accusation because the God of vengeance will fight for him.”
Obieze described the accusations as politically motivated fabrications, explaining, “It’s a political issue, something driven by politics. They are making false claims against me because I am the next in line for kingship, and some people in my village don’t want me to take that position. So, they are painting me as evil from every angle to bring me down.”
When asked if he is a native doctor, he denied the claim, despite multiple videos circulating that show him performing traditional rituals.
He further accused the President General of his village of planting evidence in his compound, saying, “Because of this kingship dispute, they set me up. Someone working for them planted the bodies in my soakaway.”
Obieze insists he is simply a businessman dealing in okirika (second-hand clothes).
His story highlights a tangled mix of tradition, politics, and serious allegations as the investigation continues.
