Grace Bassey, the Nigerian actress formerly known as Belinda Effah, has traded her acting career for a naval uniform by joining the United States Navy. After successfully completing the rigorous U.S. Navy boot camp, she also earned her American citizenship.

The 35-year-old actress first stepped into the Nollywood scene in 2005 with the television series Shallow Waters. Her transformation from Belinda Effah to Grace-Charis Bassey followed a profound spiritual experience.
