Dame Patience Jonathan Honorary Doctorate

Former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has added another feather to her cap, receiving an honorary doctorate in Psychology, Guidance, and Counselling from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The recognition was bestowed during the university’s 43rd Convocation Ceremony, which drew a crowd of dignitaries, well-wishers, and members of the public. The celebration didn’t end with the formalities—women’s groups, including Rivers Women Unite for SIM led by Sotonye Toby Fult, organized a lively gathering in her honor, complete with singing and spirited dancing.

One video from the festivities captured Dame Patience Jonathan joining in the fun, dancing alongside the women as they chanted, “Na our mama be this ooo.”

Embracing the moment, she addressed the crowd in pidgin English, inviting everyone for a group photo and refreshments: “Make una come. Make we snap, let’s go and eat.”

The event was a vibrant tribute to the former First Lady’s influence and a reminder that when it comes to celebrations, Dame Patience Jonathan certainly knows how to keep the party going.
