President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigeria’s Service Chiefs and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to intensify efforts in tracking down those behind the recent violent attacks in Benue State.

During his visit to Benue on June 18, the President expressed frustration over the absence of arrests related to the ongoing crisis in the North-Central region.

Addressing officials at the Benue Government House in Makurdi, Tinubu asked pointedly, “Police, I hope your men are alert and listening to leads. How come no arrests have been made? I expect those criminals to be apprehended.”

He praised the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher, acknowledging his tireless efforts in the field. “I watch your updates; you can’t be tired of staying in the bush,” he said. He also thanked Oloyede and the Air Marshal for their contributions but urged everyone to stay vigilant.

“Let’s get those criminals. DG NIA, DG SSS, it’s time to sharpen your intelligence networks so we can prevent such incidents from happening again,” the President added.
