Bella Shmurda Reveals He’d Have Chosen Preaching Over Music
Nigerian afrobeats sensation Bella Shmurda recently opened up about a path he might have taken if music hadn’t been his calling. The ‘Triumphant’ hitmaker shared that he believes preaching or motivational speaking could have been his true vocation.
During a chat on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast hosted by Joey Akan, Bella expressed his strong sense of spirituality and how it shapes his artistry. “Everyone has a spiritual side; it’s just about uncovering it,” he said. “If I wasn’t an artist, I probably would have been a preacher or a motivational speaker. I feel like that’s my purpose, and I try to weave that into every track I create.”
He added, “If music wasn’t my path, I’d be inspiring people through motivational talks. I have a knack for uplifting others and reaching deep into their hearts. That’s why I’m here, and it has to shine through in my music. You can’t separate that from what I do.”
Bella emphasized that spirituality is inseparable from his creative process. “When I write, spirituality is always present. Even in my voice, you can sense it,” he concluded.
