Former Big Brother Naija star Sammie is currently under fire as Nigerians swarm his Instagram page demanding refunds over an alleged N4.45 million scam.
The drama unfolded after a man named Emmanuel Idakoh, also known as Young Barby, accused Sammie of defrauding him of N4.45 million in exchange for a slot in the 2025 BBNaija season. The accusation was captured in a viral video recorded by popular Nigerian videographer Lucky Udu.
Emmanuel claimed that after making an initial payment, Sammie requested an additional N1 million, threatening that he had already used his own money to secure the spot and expected repayment. At one point, Sammie allegedly advised Emmanuel to take a loan, even though the lender warned that a N1 million loan would require a N1.5 million repayment.
“He was now asking for collateral, demanding I put up my car. When I reached out, he assured me a refund would be made if things didn’t work out. But the pain is that I was scammed by someone I trusted like a brother. I even sold my car to pay off the loan,” Emmanuel lamented.
As of now, Sammie has yet to respond to the allegations or reply to messages seeking his side of the story.
The situation has sparked outrage among netizens, who flooded Sammie’s page with calls for him to return the money. Comments ranged from blunt accusations like “Thiefff refund his money ole” to warnings such as “Your life don dey outside, better go refund person hard earned money, or the street go tire you.”
Others expressed disbelief and disappointment, questioning how a former BBNaija star could stoop to such acts. “It’s obvious 95% of BBNaija ex stars are broke. But bro, why scam your own brother N4.5m?” one user asked.
The online frenzy continues as followers demand accountability and a resolution to the alleged scam.
