Actress Sarah Martins Pleads with Davido After Backlash Over Restaurant Post Involving Chioma
Nollywood actress Sarah Martins found herself in hot water after sharing a misleading post that claimed music superstar Davido had opened a restaurant. The singer, clearly unimpressed, wasted no time confronting her directly in her DMs with some unfiltered words. “WTF is wrong with you? Delete that dumb ass sh*t. Which f***ing restaurant did I open? I didn’t open any restaurant. Please delete it now,” he fumed.
Completely taken aback by the response, Sarah quickly turned to Instagram to share a screenshot of the private message, accompanied by a simple and direct apology: “I’m sorry Davido.”
She didn’t stop there. In a video she posted shortly after, Sarah offered a full-on apology, addressing Davido as “my King” and “001,” his popular nickname among fans. With visible remorse, she explained, “If you know me well, you’d know I’m a diehard fan of Davido and Chioma. I would never intentionally disrespect either of them.”
She claimed her mistake stemmed from a misunderstanding, saying she had seen a post by Opeyemi, who suggested Davido had gifted him food from a restaurant. Without confirming the facts, she jumped to conclusions and shared the information, which snowballed quickly.
“I’m deeply sorry for upsetting you to the extent that you had to come into my DM,” she added. “I beg, please forgive me.”
Sarah then doubled down on her fan credentials, declaring her unwavering admiration for the singer. “I’m your number one fan. Nobody loves you more than I do, I swear on God. They almost took down my page because I was defending you online!”
She wrapped up her apology by emphasizing that her actions, although poorly informed, were rooted in admiration. “This all came from a place of love. Please forgive me, OBO.”
