Second chances don’t come often, but when they do, they tend to make headlines. That was the case in Port Harcourt when the once-controversial Happie Boys walked back into the church of Apostle Gift Chinyere, their former benefactor, to set the record straight.
The visit happened on Sunday, September 14, during a church service where the duo admitted they had been manipulated by people they described as the clergyman’s enemies. According to them, these individuals lured them with promises of flying them to the United States if they publicly turned against the Apostle.
For those who remember, Happie Boys shot to fame in 2023 after they were fired as security guards for dancing on duty. Their viral antics eventually caught the attention of Apostle Chinyere, who stepped in to sponsor their education abroad.
Things later went sour when the boys accused the Apostle of neglecting them in Cyprus, claiming he only supported them financially for six months before withdrawing. The clergyman, however, explained that economic challenges made it unsustainable to continue, advising them instead to return to Nigeria or relocate to Benin Republic to complete their studies—an option they declined at the time.
Fast forward to today, and the story has taken a surprising turn. Not only did Happie Boys return to his church, but they also stood on the pulpit to publicly acknowledge the role of outside influence in their previous outburst. Their reconciliation suggests that what once seemed like a bitter fallout may now be mending into forgiveness and understanding.
