A businessman’s nightmare became a reality in Lagos when a jeweller’s store was completely cleaned out, leaving him in tears and disbelief. Clinton K, a luxury jewellery dealer, revealed that thieves made away with items valued at over ₦500 million, wiping out what he described as everything he had ever worked for.
Clinton shared a heartbreaking video on social media, narrating how his store, Queen Gold Lagos, located at the Atlantic Centre in Chevron, was broken into. He explained that the culprits bypassed the secure roller shutter at the entrance and instead gained access through a concealed glass window he hadn’t realized was vulnerable.
“My shop Queen Gold Lagos at Atlantic Centre Chevron was broken into, and jewellery worth over ₦500 million was stolen. Everything I’ve worked for is gone. Please help me,” he wrote alongside the emotional footage of himself recounting the incident.
The clip quickly went viral, stirring a mix of sympathy and criticism. While many viewers empathized with his loss, some questioned his lack of security measures, noting the size and value of his inventory. Suggestions poured in about the importance of insurance, CCTV cameras, and professional security services for businesses handling high-value goods.
One viewer remarked, “Once your business grows to this level, please get insurance. It’s heartbreaking to see someone lose everything over something that could have been managed better.
