Babcock Graduate Who Spent ₦10 Million on Political Science Degree Struggles to Find Job Paying ₦100k
Imagine dedicating over ₦10 million and four years to earn a Political Science degree, only to find yourself unable to secure a job offering even ₦100,000 per month. That’s the harsh reality a recent Babcock University graduate shared on social media, revealing his disappointment with the limited opportunities his certificate has provided in Nigeria’s job market.
In a video posted on X, the graduate explained that it has been exactly one year since he completed his studies, yet he remains unable to land a well-paying position. “Today marks one year since I graduated from Babcock University. Despite investing heavily in my course, I still have not been able to get a job that pays ₦100k,” he lamented.
Expressing frustration with the educational system, he questioned the value of certain degrees for practical employment, bluntly describing his course as “useless” when it comes to real job prospects. According to him, the future is brighter mainly for those who studied accounting, banking and finance, medical fields such as nursing and medical laboratory sciences, or law.
He also highlighted other courses with limited job prospects in Nigeria including Public Administration, Political Science, International Law and Diplomacy, History, and Food and Nutrition.
