Spyro Urges Nigerian Politicians to Step Up Amid Tough Times at Gov Eno’s Rally
Afrobeats sensation Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, took a moment during his performance at the grand reception for Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno’s entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uyo to send a pointed message to Nigerian politicians.
Addressing the crowd on Saturday, Spyro highlighted the growing hardships Nigerians face and called on political office holders to rise to the occasion.
“Big shoutout to His Excellency the Governor. It’s a privilege to be here today. I’ve heard about the great work happening in the state, and we’re proud,” he said.
“I hope other leaders here take a page from his book and do better for us because things are really tough out there. So, make them do better for us,” Spyro added, delivering a candid plea for improved governance.
The event drew a high-profile crowd, including Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, as well as numerous lawmakers.
At least 24 governors from the ruling party, including those from Cross River, Imo, Kwara, Kogi, Jigawa, Delta, Edo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Ogun, Sokoto, and Ondo, were present to welcome Governor Eno to the APC fold.
Spyro’s heartfelt message underscored the urgent need for Nigerian leaders to deliver tangible results amid challenging times.
